OUR PROGRAM
The Southern Minne[sota] Magic basketball club is an organization that is based out of Austin, Minnesota. This club was established in 1995 with the purpose of providing a positive learning experience for exceptional female basketball players.
SM Magic is a volunteer non-profit organization which offers girls in various age groups, the opportunity to compete in Minnesota AAU and other exposure tournaments throughout the Midwest. Athletes from Southern Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Western Wisconsin are eligible to compete.
Our coaches and players are passionate about the game, love to have fun and enjoy competing against the best.
Our Mission
The mission of the SM Magic Basketball program is to organize and administer a highly competitive and enjoyable basketball program for male and female athletes. Athletes will compete against competitive teams at the state and regional competition. This will provide our athletes the opportunity to become leaders and maybe get noticed through hard work, based on commitment, desire, and talent.
Coaching Philosophy
We promise to challenge our players to their maximum potential in practice and in games. We play in tournaments that will be competitive. Our record is not our first concern. We believe players learn more from losing by a few points to a great team than beating a less competitive team by thirty.
Our teams are placed in the best tournaments with competition that challenge our players each and every time they step on the court.
We will challenge our players to their maximum potential in practices and games. Our goal is to make the player a complete athlete. Our focus is on personal improvement, game knowledge, decision making and team play, with less stress on the outcome of games.
